Amoxycillin Trihydrate is a moderate-spectrum, bacteriolytic, ?-lactam antibiotic. The bacteria that cause salmonella infections can be susceptible to amoxicillin trihydrate as well, and it is also prescribed alongside another medication to treat bacteria-related stomach ulcers.

INDICATIONS:
It can be prescribed for a wide variety of bacterial illnesses, ranging from ear, skin and bladder infections to sexually transmitted diseases. It is usually the drug of choice within the class because it is better absorbed, following oral administration than other ?-lactam antibiotics. Amoxicillin is one of the most common antibiotics prescribed for children.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Amoxicillin can commonly cause a mild rash that is usually not serious.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Before taking amoxicillin, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are also taking probenecid. Probenecid slows down the removal of amoxicillin from your body, causing higher levels of this antibiotic in your bloodstream. Amoxicillin may cause false-positive results with certain diabetic urine testing products (cupric sulfate-type).
PRECAUTIONS & WARNING:
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, a certain type of viral infection (infectious mononucleosis). Amoxicillin suspension may contain sugar. Caution is advised if you have diabetes or any other condition that requires you to limit/avoid sugar in your diet.
