Description: Thyropep 100 is consist of thyroxine sodium belongs to ‘thyroid agents’, primarily used to treat underactive thyroid.

Composition: Each uncoated tablet contains:
Thyroxine Sodium I.P. equivalent to anhydrous Thyroxine Sodium 100 mcg
(Synthetic Thyroid Hormone)
Excipients q.s.
Mechanism of Action. Thyropep 100 is a tablet containing thyroxine sodium which is used for the treatment of hypothyroidism. Thyroxine is deiodinated in peripheral tissues to form Tri-iodothyronine which is thought to be active form of thyroid hormone.
Indications: Thyropep 100 is indicated for control of hypothyroidism, congenital hypothyroidism and juvenile myxoedema.
Dosage: As directed by the physician.
Storage: Store protected from light & moisture at a temperature not exceeding 30°C
Presentation: 120 Tablets
Side effects: Rash, Pruritus, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Headache.
Contraindications: Thyropep 100 is contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to the drug. or excipients, during pregnancy and lactation, in patients with Adrenal gland disorder or adrenal insufficiency or Thyrotoxicosis
Drug Interactions: Thyropep 100 can cause drug interaction with following drugs:
Oral anticoagulants (Warfarin)
Anti-diabetic agents
Tricyclic anti-depressants (e.g. amitriptyline, imipramine, dosulepin)
sympathomimetic agents (e.g. adrenaline or phenylephrine)
Beta Blockers
Amiodarone
Anticonvulsants, such as carbamazepine and phenytoin
Anti-obesity drugs
