BETASONE-N E/E DROPS

DESCRIPTION: Betasone-N eye/ear drops is a medication containing a corticosteroid (betamethasone) and an antibiotic (neomycin sulfate), used to alleviate inflammation and combat bacterial infections in the eyes or ears.

Neomycin Sulphate I.P. 0.5% w/v
Benzalkonium Chloride solution I.P. 0.02% v/v

MECHANISM OF ACTION: Betamethasone, a corticosteroid, works by suppressing inflammation, reducing swelling, and alleviating symptoms in the eyes or ears. Neomycin sulfate, an antibiotic, combats bacterial infections by inhibiting the growth of bacteria. Together, these components in Betasone-N eye/ear drops provide a dual-action approach to treat inflammation and infection in the targeted area.

INDICATIONS: Betasone-N eye/ear drops is used to treat bacterial infections of the eye and ear like Allergic conjunctivitis (inflammation of the mucous membrane of the eye), Uveitis (inflammation of the uvea-middle layer of the eye), Marginal keratitis (inflammation of the cornea), Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids), and Otitis externa (inflammation of the ear).

DOSAGE: As prescribed by the physician.

SIDE EFFECTS: Local irritation, Itching sensation, Blurred vision, burning sensation, drooping eyelid.

WARNINGS: Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of hearing problems (including deafness, decreased hearing), intestinal problems (including blockage, swelling, ulcers), kidney problems, myasthenia gravis, and Parkinson’s disease. 

DIRECTIONS: Use the solution within one month after opening the container. Do not use it if the solution contains particles/suspended matter.

STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry place. Protect from light.
