MECHANISM OF ACTION: Silver Sulphadiazine acts as an antimicrobial agent by releasing silver ions, which have broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, preventing and treating bacterial infections in wounds. This promotes healing of the burns/wounds. Lignocaine act as a local anesthetic, providing pain relief by inhibiting nerve signals at the site of application, thereby reducing pain and discomfort associated with wounds. Chlorhexidine gluconate serves as an antiseptic with potent bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties, helping to prevent and control the growth of a wide range of bacteria on the skin and in wounds.
INDICATIONS: Used as a topical anti-infective for dermal injuries. It has a wide antibacterial spectrum, including virtually all microbial species likely to infect the burn wound. Burnprotec cream is used to prevent and treat wound infections in patients with second and third-degree burns.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, use in neonates, pregnancy and lactation.
SIDE EFFECTS: Itching, burning sensation, rash.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: The cream is applied to a thickness of 2-4mm to the burned skin.
STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of the reach of children.
