DESCRIPTION:
Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride is a serotonin and histamine antagonist with anticholinergic and sedative properties. It finds clinical application in stimulating appetite and growth. Tricholine Citrate contains three molecules of choline. Clinical interest in choline centres on its lipotropic action & its utility in the treatment of fatty infiltration and cirrhosis of the liver.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
The appetite-stimulating effect of Cyproheptadine is probably a consequence of serotonin antagonism. It antagonizes the satiety stimulating effects of serotonin on the satiety centre. When the stomach is empty, the sugar level decreases sending signals to the brain activating the appetite centre. Choline converts fat into phospholipids like lecithin, which is essential to biomembrane structure and its function. Tricholine Citrate also increases bile flow and stimulates pancreatic enzymes.
INDICATIONS:
Loss of appetite, allergy & pruritis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the formulation.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Drowsiness, dry mouth, confusion and ataxia.
DOSAGE:
As prescribed by the physician.
PRECAUTIONS:
It is dangerous to take this medicine except under medical supervision, It May cause drowsiness, do not drive or operate machinery if affected.
