MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Ketoconazole works by killing fungi on the skin called Malassezia. These fungi occur naturally on the skin, however, people suffering from dandruff seem to have more Malassezia. It works by interfering with the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, thereby weakening it. The weakened cell membrane allows the contents of the fungal cell to leak out resulting in its death.
INDICATIONS:
Ketomac Dandruff Treatment Shampoo is used for the prevention and treatment of dandruff. It treats flaking, scaling, itching, dandruff and also helps to relieve inflammation due to dandruff. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your physician.
CONTRAINDICATION:
Contraindicated in people who are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the excipients in this formulation.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Side effects may occur in some people due to the use of Ketomac Shampoo. These are usually mild and do not affect everyone using the product, Burning Sensation, Dry Hair, Oily Hair, Contact Dermatitis
PRECAUTIONS:
The shampoo may be irritating to the mucous membranes of the eyes and contact with the eyes should be avoided. If the shampoo gets into your eyes, rinse them gently with clean water. If a sensitive reaction or chemical irritation occurs, the use of the medication should be discontinued and consult a physician.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Wet hair and scalp thoroughly. Apply a small amount of Ketomac Shampoo to your scalp and massage into a lather. Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse your scalp thoroughly.
