DESCRIPTION:
Diclofenac Sodium belongs to the category of NSAID (Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug) and is a benzene acetic acid derivative taken to reduce inflammation and pain in certain conditions.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Diclofenac Sodium is a non-steroidal compound with pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties. Inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis, which has been demonstrated in experiments, is considered fundamental to its mechanism of action. Prostaglandins play a major role in causing inflammation, pain and fever.
INDICATIONS:
Acute & chronic treatment of osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal disorders.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Upset stomach, nausea, heartburn, diarrhoea, constipation, gas, headache, drowsiness, and dizziness may occur.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
ACE Inhibitors (such as lisinopril), angiotensin II receptor blockers (such as valsartan, losartan), cidofovir, cyclosporine, lithium, methotrexate.
PRECAUTIONS & WARNING:
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (including diclofenac) may rarely increase the risk for a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease, or with longer use. This drug should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery (CABG).
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Active gastric or intestinal ulcer, bleeding or perforation.
Like other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), diclofenac sodium is also contraindicated in patients in whom attacks of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis are precipitated by acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.

As advised by the physician.

Protect from heat and light, Store below 25o. Do not refrigerate.
