DESCRIPTION: Roxithromycin is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic. It is only effective against bacterial infections and not against viral or fungal infections. PACKING: 100x10x10 tablets

MECHANISM OF ACTION: Roxithromycin prevents bacteria from growing, by interfering with their protein synthesis. Roxithromycin binds to the subunit 50S of the bacterial ribosome, and thus inhibits the translocation of peptides. INDICATIONS: Upper and lower respiratory tract infections, uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections, middle-ear infections. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to roxithromycin, any other macrolides antibiotic eg, azithromycin, clarithromycin, erythromycin or any of the ingredients. SIDE EFFECTS: Headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain and vomiting. DOSAGE: As directed by the physician. STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry and dark place.
