Dextromethorphan HBr	I.P.	10 mg
Phenylephrine HCl	I.P.	5 mg
Chlorpheniramine Maleate	I.P.	2 mg
In a syrupy flavored base
Colors: Tartrazine supra and brilliant blue

MECHANISM OF ACTION: Dextromethorphan suppresses cough by central action on the cough center in the medulla. Phenylephrine stimulates postsynaptic alpha-receptors, resulting in vasoconstriction, which reduces nasal congestion. Chlorpheniramine competitively antagonizes histamine at H1 receptor sites. INDICATIONS: Coughs and upper respiratory tract symptoms, including nasal congestion, are associated with allergy or the common cold. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to any product ingredients; severe hypertension; ventricular tachycardia; severe coronary artery disease; chronic bronchitis; as a treatment for lower respiratory tract conditions including asthma; during an asthma attack; newborns or premature infants; breast-feeding women. ADVERSE EFFECTS: Blurred vision; dry mouth; nausea, stomach pain, constipation; skin rash or itching. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Consult if you are taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson’s disease) or two weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. WARNING: Do not exceed recommended dosage. DOSAGE: As directed by the physician. STORAGE: Store below 25o. Protect from light.
