Torque's Combitor Tablets

DESCRIPTION: Torque's Combitor Tablets contains Ibuprofen & Paracetamol, which act as anti-inflammatory & analgesics.

COMPOSITION:

Each uncoated tablet contains:

Ibuprofen IP                                  400mg

Paracetamol IP                             325mg

Excipients                                     q.s.

MECHANISM OF ACTION: Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Paracetamol is an antipyretic (fever reducer) and analgesic (pain reducer).

INDICATIONS: For temporary relief of pain associated with: headache, migraine, backache, period pain, dental pain, muscular pain, dysmenorrhea, cold and flu symptoms, sore throat and fever.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: As directed by the Physician.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: This product is contraindicated for use:

• in patients with known hypersensitivity reaction to paracetamol, ibuprofen, other NSAIDs or to any of the excipients.

• in patients who have experienced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.

• in patients with active or history of gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulceration.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:

  • Fluconazole, Voriconazole increases plasma concentration of Ibuprofen.
  • Antiplatelet effect of Aspirin possibly reduced by Ibuprofen.
  • Excretion of Baclofen, Methotrexate reduced by Ibuprofen.
  • Increased risk of nephrotoxicity when ibuprofen given with Tacrolimus.
  • Lixisenatide possibly reduces the absorption of Paracetamol
  • Ketoconazole advises avoid concomitant use with Paracetamol.
  • Carbamazepine possibly accelerates metabolism of Paracetamol.
  • Colestyramine reduces absorption of Paracetamol.
  • Anticoagulant effect of coumarins possibly enhanced by prolonged regular use of Paracetamol.
  • Metoclopramide increases rate of absorption of Paracetamol.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, stomach discomfort, vomiting, dizziness, headache, nervousness, rash (including maculopapular type), and pruritus.

PRECAUTIONS & WARNING:

  • Bronchospasm may be precipitated in patients suffering from or with a previous history of bronchial asthma.
  • Ibuprofen should not be given to patients in whom aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs induce the symptoms of asthma, rhinitis or urticaria.
  • Overdose of paracetamol may cause liver damage
