Product Description

Description: Torque’s Telmitor H Tablet contain telmisartan & hydrochlorothiazide which is a combination of an angiotensin II receptor antagonist and a thiazide diuretic respectively. The combination of these ingredients has an additive antihypertensive effect, reducing blood pressure to a greater degree than either component alone.

Pharmaceutical Dosage Form: Tablet

Route of Administration: Oral

Composition: Each uncoated bilayered tablet contains:

Telmisartan                                    I.P               40 mg

Hydrochlorothiazide                      I.P              12.5 mg

Colour: Ferric oxide red USP-NF

Mechanism of Action: Telmisartan blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in many tissues, such as vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. Its action is therefore independent of the pathways for angiotensin II synthesis. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic. Thiazides have an effect on the renal tubular mechanisms of electrolyte reabsorption, directly increasing excretion of sodium and chloride in approximately equivalent amounts.

Indications: Torque’s Telmitor H is indicated in the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure.
