MECHANISM OF ACTION: Calamine soothes and protects irritated skin by providing a cooling and mild astringent effect; diphenhydramine hydrochloride relieves itching through antihistaminic action by blocking H₁ receptors; and camphor produces a cooling sensation that reduces itching and irritation by stimulating nerve endings.
INDICATIONS: Calamine lotion is used in the treatment of mild rashes, insect bites, and minor skin irritations.
DOSAGE: As directed by the physician.
SIDE EFFECTS: Minor side effects, such as rash or itching, may occur during the use of this product.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Calamine lotion is contraindicated in case of any known sensitivity or allergy to its ingredients.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Shake the bottle well. Apply it with your hands, a cotton ball, or a soft cloth to the affected area. Do not indiscriminately rub it all over large areas, but stick to the area of the rash, insect bite, etc. To allow the calamine lotion to dry on the skin, refrain from touching the area. It should be applied 2 or 3 times daily to the affected areas.
STORAGE: Store calamine lotion at room temperature. Do not store it in the bathroom. Store away from heat, moisture, and light.
