DESCRIPTION: Ceftorque 1 injection contains Ceftriaxone, a broad-spectrum third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including those of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, bones, joints, and abdomen, as well as meningitis and septicemia.

MECHANISM OF ACTION: Ceftriaxone acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) inside the bacterial cell wall, blocking the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis, which is essential for cell wall strength and rigidity. This results in weakening of the cell wall, leading to cell lysis and bacterial death.
INDICATIONS: Treatment of infections of the respiratory, skin, soft tissue, and urinary tract.
DOSAGE: As directed by the physician.
SIDE EFFECTS: Swelling, redness, pain, or soreness at the injection site may occur. May also infrequently cause loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, or headache.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone or to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics. Allergic cross-reactions to penicillin are possible.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Dissolve the contents in 9.6ml of sterile water for injection I.P. for I.V. administration of 3.6ml for I.M. administration. Use immediately after preparation if it is clear.
