Description: Cold-Go Suspension is a paediatric formulation containing paracetamol, phenylephrine, and chlorpheniramine for comprehensive relief from cough & cold symptoms.
Dosage Form: Suspension
Route of Administration: Oral
Composition: Each 5ml contains:
Paracetamol I.P. 125mg
Phenylephrine HCl I.P. 5mg
Chlorpheniramine Maleate I.P. 1mg
Mechanism of Action: Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic drug that is used to temporarily relieve mild-to-moderate pain and fever. It inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX) in the central nervous system, reducing the production of prostaglandins and providing analgesic (pain-relieving) and antipyretic (fever-reducing) effects. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that contributes to allergy symptoms. By inhibiting histamine, chlorpheniramine reduces the effects of allergic reactions, such as sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that works by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages. This constriction reduces swelling and congestion in the nasal tissues, making it easier to breathe. It is commonly used to relieve nasal congestion associated with conditions like the common cold or allergies. Together, these three components in a combination medication aim to address multiple symptoms associated with coughs and colds, including allergy-related symptoms.
Indications: Cold-Go Suspension is used to treat symptoms of the common cold and allergies like sneezing, runny/stuffy nose, fever, headache, body pains, congestion, and watery eyes.
