MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate is a sodium phosphate salt form of Dexamethasone, a synthetic adrenal corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory properties. In addition to binding to specific nuclear steroid receptors, dexamethasone also interferes with NF-kB activation and apoptotic pathways. This agent lacks the salt-retaining properties of other related adrenal hormones. Dexamethasone Sodium phosphate is primarily used for its potent anti-inflammatory effects in disorders of many organ systems. They modify the body’s immune responses to diverse stimuli. Dexamethasone sodium phosphate injection has a rapid onset but short duration of action when compared with less soluble preparations.
