Mechanism of Action: Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that works by thinning and loosening mucus in the airways. It achieves this by increasing the production of respiratory tract secretions, reducing the viscosity of mucus, and facilitating its easier elimination. This action helps in clearing the air passages and relieving congestion in conditions such as respiratory infections or chronic bronchitis. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that acts on beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the smooth muscles of the airways. It stimulates these receptors, leading to relaxation of the muscles and dilation of the bronchioles. This bronchodilatory effect helps to open up the airways, making it easier for individuals to breathe. Levosalbutamol is commonly used to relieve symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Guaifenesin is an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of respiratory tract secretions. This action helps to loosen and thin mucus, making it easier for the body to clear the airways through coughing.
