Fexofenadine is an antihistamine that relieves allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Fexofenadine, an active metabolite of terfenadine, is a competitive peripheral histamine H1-receptor antagonist on effector cells in the GI tract, blood vessels, and respiratory tract. Absorption: absorbed rapidly from the GI tract (oral); peak plasma concentrations after 2-3-hour distribution: enters breast milk. 60-70% bound to plasma proteins. Metabolism: intestinal mucosa (5% of total dose); hepatic (0.5-1.5% of dose). Excretion: mainly via feces, via urine (10% of dose); 14 hr. (elimination half-life; may be prolonged in renal impairment).
INDICATIONS:
Fexotor Tablet is an anti-allergic medicine used to relieve allergic rhinitis characterized by watery eyes, runny or blocked nose, itching, sneezing, and hives (skin rash).
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Renal impairment. Pregnancy, Lactation; Children <6 years.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Cough, fever, or stomach upset may occur. Tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly if any of these effects persist or worsen.
DOSAGE:
As directed by the physician.
