COMPOSITION: Ketoconazole I.P. 2% w/v, Zinc Pyrithione 1% w/v, In a conditioning base q.s.
MECHANISM OF ACTION: Ketoconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol in fungal cell membranes, leading to membrane disruption and the death of dandruff causing fungi (Malassezia). Zinc pyrithione suppresses fungal and bacterial growth and reduces scalp inflammation by disrupting microbial cell transport mechanisms, helping to control dandruff and itching.
INDICATIONS: Ketomac Plus Shampoo is indicated for the topical treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis, including dandruff caused by proven fungal infections, as well as Pityriasis versicolor.
DIRECTIONS OF USE: Wet your hair and scalp well with water. Apply an adequate quantity of shampoo to form a rich lather. Leave it on for 3-5 minutes. Rinse your hair and scalp thoroughly with water. For best results, apply twice a week for 4 weeks, followed by once weekly as maintenance therapy or as directed by the Physician.
SIDE EFFECTS: The side effects of Ketomac Plus Shampoo may include application site erythema, irritation, hypersensitivity, pruritus, and pustules.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Ketomac Plus Shampoo is contraindicated in individuals with unknown hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
