MECHANISM OF ACTION: Nimesulide is an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase so it inhibits the synthesis of destructive prostaglandins and spares cytoprotective prostaglandins. Nimesulide appears to exert its effects also through a variety of other mechanisms and involves interference with the production action of mediators other than prostaglandins such as enzymes, toxic oxygen derivatives, cytokines, platelet-activating factors and histamine. Paracetamol is a valuable central analgesic but a weak peripheral anti-inflammatory agent and exhibits antipyretic action. SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, epigastric pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, heartburn, dizziness and skin rashes. INDICATIONS: Pain, inflammation accompanying respiratory tract infection and ENT conditions, sprains, post-surgical pain. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity, active peptic ulcer disease, asthma, moderate to severe hepatic impairment. DOSAGE: As directed by the physician. OVERDOSE: Overdosage of paracetamol can cause liver damage. STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry & dark place. Keep all the medicines away from the children.
