Description: No Scars cream is a topical medication that combines a skin-lightening agent (hydroquinone), a retinoid (tretinoin), and a corticosteroid (mometasone) to address melasma and inflammatory skin conditions, providing a comprehensive approach to improve skin tone and texture.
Dosage Form: Cream
Route of Administration: Topical
Composition:
Hydroquinone U.S.P. 2% w/w
Tretinoin B.P. 0.025% w/w
Mometasone Furoate I.P. 0.10% w/w
Cream base q.s.
Mechanism of Action: Hydroquinone produces reversible lightening of the skin by interfering with melanin production by the melanocytes. Specifically, inhibition of the enzymatic conversion of tyrosine to DOPA (dihydroxyphenylalanine) results in the desired chemical reduction of pigment. Tretinoin acts by promoting skin cell turnover, unclogging pores, and stimulating collagen production, resulting in improved skin texture, reduced acne lesions and fine lines. Mometasone exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators and suppressing immune responses, making it effective for treating various skin conditions characterized by inflammation, itching, and redness.
Indications: No Scars cream is often indicated for the treatment of hyperpigmentation disorders, such as melasma (gray-brown patches on the face), post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark spots or patches that develop after the healing of acne), sun-induced hyperpigmentation (exposure to sunlight), and acquired hyperpigmentation (skin ageing or environmental factors). This combination is commonly prescribed by dermatologists to lighten dark spots and address conditions where excessive pigmentation has occurred.
Dosage: As directed by the physician.
Side effects: Irritation, Itching, Redness, Burning Sensation
Contraindications: Patients with a history of hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to its components should not use No Scars cream.
Precautions: No Scars cream should only be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. Do not self-prescribe or use the cream without a prescription. Prolonged use of hydroquinone may lead to adverse effects such as ochronosis (bluish-black discoloration of the skin). Follow your healthcare provider's instructions and do not exceed recommended timeframes. Use sun protection measures, including sunscreen with a high SPF, protective clothing, and avoiding excessive sun exposure. Both hydroquinone and tretinoin can increase sensitivity to sunlight. Follow the prescribed application frequency. Applying more cream than recommended will not enhance results but may increase the risk of side effects. If severe irritation or adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of the cream and consult your healthcare provider. Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as certain ingredients may have safety considerations during these periods.
Directions for use: No Scars cream is only for external use. Wash the face with No Scars Facewash/mild soap and pat the skin dry. Take a small amount of No Scars cream on a fingertip and apply on the clean and dry affected area at night or as advised by the doctor. Avoid contact of No Scars cream with nose, mouth, eyes, ears or vagina. In case it comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.
Storage: Store in a cool & dry place. Do not freeze.
