Ofloxamac E/E Drops

Ofloxacin is a synthetic chemotherapeutic antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone drug class considered to be a second-generation fluoroquinolone. Ofloxacin is a racemic mixture, which consists of 50% levofloxacin (the biologically active component) and 50% of its mirror image or enantiomer dextrofloxacin.

Benzalkonium Chloride Solution I.P. 0.02% w/v

In a sterile aqueous vehicle.

Indications

Used to treat a variety of bacterial infections of the eye and ear.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place. Protect from light.

Precautions

As directed by the physician. Use with caution in patients with liver disease. Contraindicated in the paediatric population, during pregnancy and lactation, in patients with psychiatric illnesses, and in patients with epilepsy or other seizure disorders. Can interact with corticosteroids (e.g. dexamethasone, prednisone), duloxetine, antidiabetic medicines (e.g. glyburide, insulin), live bacterial vaccines, NSAIDs (e.g. ibuprofen, naproxen), probenecid, theophylline, and warfarin. Use the solution within one month after opening the container. Do not use if the solution contains particles or suspended matter.
