PANTOMAC-40 TABLETS

Description: Pantomac-40 tablet is a medication that includes pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce stomach acid production.

Route of Administration: Oral

Composition: Each gastro-resistant tablet contains: Pantoprazole Sodium IP Eq. to Pantoprazole 40 mg Excipients q.s.

Mechanism of Action: Pantoprazole is a first-generation proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Pantoprazole binds irreversibly and specifically to the proton pump, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Pantoprazole has a relatively long duration of action compared with other PPIs, and a lower propensity to become activated in slightly acidic body compartments.

Indications: Pantomac-40 tablet is used in the treatment of Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), Heartburn, Esophageal gastric varices bleeding prophylaxis, Erosive esophagitis, Acid peptic disease and Helicobacter pylori eradication. Pantomac-40 tablet is also effective in treating and preventing NSAID-related gastric and gastroduodenal injury.

Dosage: As prescribed by the physician.

Side effects: Nausea, Headache, Stomach pain, Dizziness and Diarrhea.

Contraindications: Pantomac-40 tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the drug or any excipients from the dosage form.

ADR Warning: Proton Pump Inhibitors can cause acute Kidney injury as an adverse drug reaction.

Storage: Store protected from moisture, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
