DESCRIPTION:
Silver Sulfadiazine is a sulfa derivative topical antibacterial used primarily as a topical burn cream on second and third-degree burns. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is a chemical antiseptic. It kills both gram-positive and gram-negative microbes. It is also bacteriostatic.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Silva disintegrates into the burn wound, thereby causing a slow and sustained release of silver ions. They inhibit the growth and multiplication of bacterial cells without affecting the cells of the skin and subcutaneous tissue. It prevents the growth of a wide array of bacteria, as well as yeast, on the damaged skin.
INDICATIONS:
Used as a topical anti-infective for dermal injuries. It has a wide antibacterial spectrum including virtually all microbial species likely to infect the burn wound.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, use in neonates, pregnancy and lactation.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Itching, burning sensation, rash.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
The cream is applied to a thickness of 2-4mm to the burned skin.
STORAGE:
Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of the reach of children.
