Mechanism of Action: Clindamycin is a class of medications called lincomycin antibiotics. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes. This action is bacteriostatic, meaning it prevents the growth and reproduction of bacteria. Clindamycin is particularly effective against Propionibacterium acnes, a bacterium implicated in the development of acne. By reducing the population of these bacteria on the skin, Clindamycin helps control and prevent acne lesions. It also possesses anti-inflammatory properties, helping to mitigate the inflammatory component of acne. It can reduce the production of inflammatory mediators and inhibit the activation of certain immune cells involved in the inflammatory response.
Indications: Ticin gel is used to treat acne. It also helps to decrease the number of acne lesions.

Prolonged or repeated use of topical antibiotics like Clindamycin may lead to the development of resistant strains of bacteria. To minimize this risk, use the gel for the prescribed duration.
Ticin gel is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, nose, or other mucous membranes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
Ticin gel may be more suitable for mild to moderate acne. For severe cases, a healthcare professional may recommend additional or alternative treatments.
Avoid concurrent use of Ticin gel with other topical or systemic antibiotics, such as erythromycin.
Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. The use of Clindamycin during pregnancy should be considered based on the potential benefits and risks.
