MECHANISM OF ACTION:Erythromycin and other macrolide antibiotics inhibit protein synthesis by binding to the 23S rRNA molecule (in the 50S subunit) of the bacterial ribosome blocking the exit of the growing peptide chain of sensitive microorganisms.INDICATIONS:Indicated for using lower respiratory tract infections such as whooping cough, diphtheria, Legionnaires disease, and upper respiratory infections such as sinusitis and pharyngitis.CONTRAINDICATIONS:Contraindicated in patients with a known history of sensitivity to this drug and those with pre-existing liver disease or dysfunction.SIDE EFFECTS:Gastrointestinal disturbances include diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting.DRUG INTERACTIONS:Erythromycin potentiates the effect of astemizole, carbamazepine, corticosteroids, digoxin, ergot alkaloids, and theophylline.PRECAUTIONS & WARNING:Prolonged or repeated use of erythromycin may result in an overgrowth of non-susceptible bacteria or fungi and organisms initially sensitive to erythromycin.DOSAGE:As prescribed by the physician.STORAGE:Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and sunlight.PRESENTATION: 60ml bottleSHAKE WELL BEFORE USEBARCODE:010890604410668001189060441066870128906044106684
