Mechanism of Action: Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic drug that is used to temporarily relieve mild-to-moderate pain and fever. It inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX) in the central nervous system, reducing the production of prostaglandins and providing analgesic (pain-relieving) and antipyretic (fever-reducing) effects. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that contributes to allergy symptoms. By inhibiting histamine, chlorpheniramine reduces the effects of allergic reactions, such as sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that works by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages. This constriction reduces swelling and congestion in the nasal tissues, making it easier to breathe. It is commonly used to relieve nasal congestion associated with conditions like the common cold or allergies. Sodium citrate is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.
