Mechanism of Action: Calcitriol is the active form of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Chemically, it is a steroid hormone that plays a role in calcium metabolism and its regulation in the human body. Vitamin D3 is synthesized in the skin when exposed to the UV light or is ingested in food (e.g. dairy, cereals, fish). Vitamin D is the only vitamin that the human body can produce on its own. It stimulates the absorption of calcium in the intestines. Calcium carbonate serves as a supplemental source of calcium, contributing to bone mineralization, density, and strength. Zinc sulfate plays a role in supporting the immune system, contributing to the proper functioning of immune cells and processes. It is involved in bone metabolism, aiding in the synthesis of bone proteins and enzymes.
Indications: Trucal softgel capsule is used to treat low blood calcium levels and various associated conditions such as osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), osteomalacia/rickets (weak bones), hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone), and tetany (a muscle disease with low blood calcium levels).
Dosage: As directed by the physician.

Contraindications: Trucal softgel capsule is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
